Four years ago I created the AZ Style Girl Blog and typed my first post called, “Passion.” I began an incredible roller coaster ride, and without any formal fashion degree was able to turn my dream into a reality. I was self-taught. I trained. I studied. I inspired others.
And then… life happened.
On this 4 year anniversary I thank all of you who have supported my blog and believed in my talent. I am excited to rebuild and greatly appreciate any positive feedback. What do you want to read? What inspires you? What are your fashion/beauty questions?
XOXO AZ Style Girl
Urban Decay recently dropped a new smoky palette now available for customers in stores and online. On Saturday I picked mine up at Ulta where Urban Decay representatives were hard at work painting beautiful canvases. As a diehard fan of the original Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette I was hesitant to jump on the new smoky bandwagon. However, after almost a week of use, the fun in creating looks from the new palette has become one of the most exciting parts of the day.
The new Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette consists of twelve shades. (9 new, and 3 old favorites). The textures range from sparkle, to satin, to matte, and the color options are perfection. (I’m loving Smolder right now). The packaging is straight out of a hookah lounge and inside you will find step by step instruction on how to achieve different looks. Today I worked the everyday smoky as designed by the Urban Decay make up artists, but have also enjoyed coming up with my own custom color combinations.
Besides the eyeshadow it’s my opinion the new Urban Decay Smoky Eyeshadow Palette also comes with the best brush. It’s a double sided set up with a fluffy end that gets under the orbital bone, and a smudger end that creates the effect everyone is always trying so hard to achieve.
I’ve been pairing my palette with Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss. The mascara has a great black pigmentation with a wand that’s like a feather duster for you eyelashes. The lipgloss is no stick and glides on with a nice smooth fragrance free shine.
Although the cost of the palette ($54.00) may be a little pricy for some shoppers I would highly recommended the investment. The colors, quality, wear, and overall look potential is another level, not to mention the compliments you will receive for looking like a smoked out goddess.
This month I was able to dive into the world of Benefit Cosmetics with the Countdown to Love Advent Calendar. With 24 days of amazing beauty treasures I was able to learn about the Benefit Cosmetics brand and experiment with my daily dose of awesomeness. This calendar was a great build up to Christmas, but since I’ve always felt like the packaging and graphics give off a New Year’s Eve vibe I thought it would be a great time to share some of my favorites with you.
Benefit Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss
For lips I fell in love with the Benefit Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss, and it’s been my daily go to. With a lot of pinks and corals on the market already this soft neutral is just the right pick me up for a subtle yet glam shine. This plush lip gloss goes on smooth, has no stickiness whatsoever, and smells like a fresh batch of mom’s sugar cookies.
For cheeks I’m totally hooked on the Benefit Coralista a “Rio” Pleasure Face Powder and the Dandelion Brightening Face Powder. Both have a smooth application and serve different yet important purposes in my makeup routine. I’ve been using Coralista when I want an extra pop of color (looks great when paired with purple eye shadow), and Dandelion for a perfect glow (a nice contrast to a dark smoky eye).
Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara
For eyes I’ve become a Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara addict. The brush is huge, which at first took a little getting used to, but now I love it. The application hits every lash from the inside out, doesn’t clump, and leaves you ready to channel your inner bad girl. I’ve been using just two coats of this mascara with perfect results.
Wishing you and yours a happy and safe New Year’s! – AZ Style Girl
