Burberry Fall 2013 Collection

It was a heart attack on the Burberry runway seen in the collection Christopher Bailey entitled, “Trench Kisses.”  Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Freida Pinto, Rita Ora, and Kate Beckinsale looked on from the front row, and Tom Odell serenaded the crowd with a group of trench coat wearing backup singers.  The color palette of black, white, brown, and red, kept the looks classic, and the addition of hearts, stripes, and animal prints were just the right ingredients for a beautiful twist.

Then there was the latex.  The pieces came out strong, but not in a Fifty Shades of Grey sort of way.  More like a sweet classy Burberry girl kind of way.  The shear latex skirt with heart printed hot pants underneath had to be one of my favorite looks, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate Beckinsale is seen wearing it in an upcoming fashion editorial.

I’m always fascinated by how Burberry belts its looks, especially the trench coats.  Lucky for me almost every look was styled with a gold wonder woman piece.  The use of leather and eyelets as opposed to spikes were another plus in my book, and with the addition of a subtle animal print kitten heeled wedges this show was indeed perfection.

Prada Fall 2013 Collection

Has your mother ever told you not to leave home with your hair wet for fear of you catching a cold?  Well, yesterday Prada made this look cool.  For anyone looking to save some time by skimping on the blow dry just rock the wet head look with your fabulous outfit.  I knew the moment the fan starting spinning things were going to get interesting.  I was captivated the entire time, mainly because the looks sent down the runway by Miuccia weren’t necessarily what I was expecting.

The colors used were gorgeous of course.  Then there were the twists of stripes, checks, and the occasional classic Prada embellishments.  There was also a pattern of tea length skirts, dresses, and jackets.  I was obsessed with the doctor/bowling bags being toted by models as well as the black double-rimmed sunnies that made their debut.  I loved the use of metallics popping in the wardrobe, shoes, and accessories.  With the addition of giant fur cuffs and hemlines that just made no sense it was a collection to definitely be talked about.
